Brace Face

Yesterday was the big day. Spencer got his braces on. He chose blue and white rubber bands for his future jr high school colors at Woodland. He was very sore last night and was having trouble eating his usual morning pop tart this morning. Bless his heart, I wish I could tell him it will get better but just when it does he will go back and have them tightened again. They look great on him and I can't wait to see what he looks like when they finally come off...he will be 15 when that happens. FIFTEEN! Oh my gosh time is flying by. In Mexico I discovered that my sweet angel has underarm hair. Freaked me out he is not supposed to have manly underarm hair, he is supposed to be my sweet little boy forever. Well, I guess that's not going to happen.

Pictures and blog about Mexico coming soon. I've been crazy busy at work and we play baseball this weekend in Tulsa starting Friday night so I don't know when I will get it done but I promise very soon. Have a beautiful Wednesday, thank goodness for the sunshine!

Brace Yourself

We went to the orthodontist today. Dr Darrin Storms was wonderful. A huge Razorback fan and sports fan, Spencer really liked him. Well the big day is March 30th at 8am...we will have braces by 10am. I'm so jealous. Braces are so much easier now. I sat for hours to get mine on back in the day. Now it takes literally 35 minutes. Amazing. Spencer gets to choose two colors for his rubber bands on his braces... he's pretty excited about choosing colors.

It's Madness I Tell You

"March Madness" that is! Which in my life does not just mean the NCAA Basketball tournament. I have been non-stop busy with work and family stuff. Spencer had a baseball tournament last weekend, they didn't do that well but it was nice to finally be outside playing baseball. We played in Bixby, OK and were there one night. A week ago I was in Little Rock for 3 days at a conference and I was in Little Rock one day this week. I had an employee resign this week so I am in the process of hiring a sales manager.

Spencer is still doing two sports, baseball and basketball and so we are either running him to practice or picking him up at least 3 nights a week. Thankfully my dad helps out and takes over the baseball duties.

This week we went to the jr high parents meeting (sniffle sniffle), I can't believe we are about to have a Jr High kid in the house...I'm a little emotional about it.

This week at work has been mad crazy because we are leaving Saturday for a week in Mexico and for some reason the whole world figures out you are about to go on vacation and wants to meet with you the week before you leave! It never fails. But I am so excited about our vacation. We are going to the Riviera Maya outside of Cancun and staying at an all inclusive resort the Iberostar I cannot wait to get there. Friends of ours, Angie and John are also going and their son Cade is one of Spencer's really good friends, so he will be entertained the whole time and I look forward to laying by the pool all week sipping pina coladas with Angie!

Basketball Court Phase 2

We now have concrete on the court and the first part of the pole that will hold the basketball goal has been installed. Not too much longer until we will hold our first family H-O-R-S-E tournament!

New Basketball Court Phase I

For Spencer's birthday we promised him a new basketball court. The weather is finally starting to warm up so that our good friend John Backus can pour the concrete for the court. Here's phase one of our little project. I can't wait for it to be done so I can shoot hoops too!

Road Trip

David went to Pittsburgh this week and someone decided they wanted to go too. Anytime we pack a bag our cat Maggie likes to get inside and make herself at home. She's silly like that. The other crazy thing she does is when we take our shoes off at the end of the day she has to inspect them. Crazy cat habits!

I'm Still Here

Oh my gosh I've been so busy lately. I promise to blog this weekend and catch you up on the whirlwind I call my life. It's already March! I can't believe it. 16 days until we are in sunny Riveria Maya, Mexico for Spring Break. I am going to need it.
